Raven's Flight

12"x16" Copper Foil & Stained Glass 1999

This is the little design that I first made for my friend, Mary S. This particular piece has been up-dated from her original which I don't have a picture of just now. One day right at the beginning of my glass career, I was looking through a box of scrap glass and I came upon a piece of black glass that was irridized on one side and had these beautiful rainbow colors of blues and purples and the first thing I thought was it reminded me of raven wings. Knowing how much Mary loved ravens I called her up and told her we were going to design a raven for her. That was the start of my raven designs and what led me to name my company Raven's Eye Glassworks in honor of the bird that brought me so much work!
