Located on historic Route 66, Flagstaff is well-known as a tourist destination because of its proximity to so much natural beauty. Grand Canyon National Park is just 75 miles from town. The San Francisco Peaks (which include Mt. Humphreys, the highest point in Arizona, and home to the Arizona Snowbowl skiing area) are within ten miles. Flagstaff is also home to Lowell Observatory (the discovery-place of Pluto), Northern Arizona University, the Museum of Northern Arizona, and Flagstaff Medical Center, an excellent hospital facility. Phoenix is less than two hours away, and you can fly out from Flagstaff Pulliam Airport.
The ranch itself is within a few miles of Roden Crater (of which you have an excellent view from the land). Grand Falls, on the Navajo Reservation, is a short drive away. The Hopi Reservation, surrounded by Navajo land, is also nearby (you can see Second Mesa from the ranch).
